Role Overview

The Mid-Level Compositor will work closely with the compositing team and supervisors to create complex visual effects, ensuring seamless integration of digital and live-action elements. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong technical skills, and a good understanding of photographic principles.

Main Responsibilities

• Work under the guidance of Senior Compositors and VFX Supervisors to composite the various elements involved in a VFX shot, including digital stills, CGI, and live footage.
• Perform tasks such as tracking, matte extraction, layering of elements, and color grading.
• Ensure consistency and cohesiveness in the final output by maintaining the established aesthetic of the project.
• Address and solve creative and technical problems as they arise.
• Provide input on improving the compositing process and contribute to the team’s development by sharing knowledge and techniques.
• Work efficiently to meet deadlines and maintain high-quality output under tight schedules.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in compositing in a VFX environment.
• Proficiency with compositing software, especially Nuke.
• Strong understanding of digital compositing, color theory, and photographic principles.
• Demonstrated ability to composite multiple types of visual effects content.
• Good organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong written and spoken English skills are a must.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Visual Effects, Animation, Film, or related field.
• Experience with other VFX software like After Effects, Maya, or similar.
• Experience in a fast-paced commercial production environment.
